In 1947 Thor Heyerdahl left Peru on his expedition ‘Kon-Tiki’ to Polynesia.

In 1992 Martin and Giovanna left Peru and fell in love with Playa Negra, Costa Rica.

This was how Kontiki was born.

For over 18 years, Kon Tiki has given shelter, food and friendship to thousands of travelers.
